WOW...what a month!!

Things sure can change fast. I was crystal clear on an idea one day and then it completely changed the next. People have talked to me about having big goals and asked me if you decide to let them go and do something else, is that failing? What do you think? My general response is, "no, no way!" Sometimes plans change!

In my view, it is far better to take a different path if it will work out better for you rather than continuing further down a path you want to get off. Priorities change! You may have had your heart set on something and then step after step been well on the way to success when somewhere along the line you start to wonder and question. Is this actually what I want still? Is this still important to me? Why did I want this in the first place?

My recent learning is that if you are chasing a big goal, make sure you ask yourself these questions regularly, whether or not things are going well. It can be easy to get caught up in something and lose an objective perspective. Check in regularly with yourself to make sure that you still want the goal and if it fits in with everything else that you currently have on. And if it isn't what you want anymore or now isn't the right timing, let it go and focus on what is important to you right now and in setting up your future.

Don't finish something just for the sake of finishing. Check in on what you want and need and pursue goals that will help you to get to those outcomes.

Life is too short to chase dreams that you no longer have or dreams that aren't even your own. Regularly review your goals to make sure they are still important to you. And if they aren't...take action to change your situation! What you once thought was the only direction for you may not be anymore...a different direction may just be the better choice for you right now.
